The streets near home were always grey and dull, their surface littered with garbage, not to mention the vermin. It was quite difficult not to step on a rodent now and then, but you could get use to them, it's hard not to when you grew up on the streets. Homeless people can be seen daily, running through the streets, most likely up to some type of trouble. Their clothes mostly thin and tattered and faces that can barely be seen through the dirt; they live off the garbage and what they can salvage from the scraps left behind.
Our story will take place here in the streets, but also below in the earth, were these people take salvage. Small tunnels allow a person to enter into the territories below. Some tunnels may fill with water, and contributes to a few deaths each year. Others may cave in...

Will you be the one to save me? From the darkness I carry inside me? - - - - - - - - - It’s quite odd, thinking about the past. Constantly when there are trips to the surface or into the cities, everyone is reminded of what used to be. The dilapidating buildings litter the Earth’s exterior, or at least, what is left of it. It’s quite odd, remembering what your old life was like, before everything happened. Some recall where they used to work, others even say they remember their old apartment number. But that’s all in the past; everything from that life has been swept away, stripped from each and every person during our self-inflicted apocalypse. But not everybody died; it was not as much of an end to all life, but more of an end to life as it used to be. This is the story of the survivors. We are the broken people that still live on, since we cannot rise from our scattered ashes. The only thing left to do is remember what it was like to be the flame.
The apocalypse wiped out most humans on the planet, and altered the vast majority of the ones that were left. Many of the people that were still alive had heard rumors of meeting places, assemblies for the ones that were still breathing. And one way or another, they gathered together, each person categorizing themselves in specific groups while the old world governments had crumbled around them. By this point, five groups were made based on species and beliefs. A new government began to form itself, consisting of mainly humans, and established itself in an abandoned building on the surface. The Jabari pack inhabited a building in the middle of the forest, and they were known as the werewolf people. The three remaining groups called themselves Nabila, Bairn and Labonita. Conflicts began to rise, and this leads us to the present time.
The Nabila group is one of the most prosperous of the different tribes left, as of currently. They have nearly twice as much land under their control as any other, and seem to be flourishing quite a bit, considering that the world just ‘ended’. They are advanced in the fine arts, and many members pick up some skills and hobbies in this industry. They seem to feel important, and their objective is to rule above all the other survivors. Not only do they feel like they should be exalted, but that everyone else is inferior. They are a major threat due to their strength, and are not mere humans. They’re the creatures that feed off of mortal blood: the vampires. And they cannot be trusted. Or at least, that’s what the other tribes believe.
But Nabila’s headship over all the other groups is slowly vanishing with the fading peace with other groups. Due to the undomesticated vampire fledglings running amuck, there is bound to be accidents occasionally. They continue to kill other groups’ members in order to feed. When push comes to shove, the peace treaty that Nabila had with Bairn is broken, thus putting an end to their neutrality. The Bairn group, consisting of the people with unnatural abilities, has come to have an aversion to the vampires. Although Labonita, the mixed group, has yet to be affected by the vampire uprising, they find that Nabila’s beliefs are not quite the same as theirs and oppose them in that sense. However, they still remain peaceful for the time being, since their values lay within a coexistence, where vampires and gifted alike are accepted as equals.
The government, however, is a different story. A mighty tyrant sits at the head of this biased party, and now is after domination. This new political figure had good intentions at the beginning, however grew to be insane with his newfound power. The system is corrupt now with tyranny raging wild at its roots. Propaganda is being fed to the children being raised there as well. “We are superior; we are the humans that once had control over this land. We will take it back.” They believe (similarly to Nabila) that they are the ones destined to survive this struggle, and lead the planet once more. It doesn’t help Nabila’s situation that the Jabari pack is on their side. The werewolves, allied with the humans, are promised benefits and land in this takeover, so they eat out of the government’s hand. Obeying orders, much similarly to a loyal dog, the Jabari pack is willing to follow the government into war for dominance.
Rumors recently speak of a spy from the government who is trying to infiltrate the security systems of the other groups, in seek of information and blood to be shed. This spy is supposedly trained to blend in, and was sent to corrupt the groups from the inside-out. Nobody knows which group he/she is after, nor does anyone know the identity of the spy, if they even exist in the first place. People are accusing each other, and there is even talk of Nabila preparing weapons for war through the Silent Market.
With people pointing fingers at one another, it’s only a matter of time before the whole civilization (if you could even call it that) collapses. If the foundation is rotting, then the whole stability of the society will crumble as it did before. The smoke from the fake war is ever-expanding, threatening to swallow everybody whole during this struggle for dominance in a broken land.
